Pool Construction and Sealing Steps
Pool Construction and Insulation by NSG Specialized Engineering Company
Appropriate location and conditions should be provided first before the construction begins. Construction and sealing the pools are described in the following steps:
Step 1: Excavating and Transferring Debris
In this step, the location is excavated and the generated debris is transferred by appropriate machinery and tools.
Step 2: Applying the Cement Coat
Coating the walls with cement and the floor with the lean concrete is done to prepare the bed of the structure as well as to place the reinforcing bars and concrete.
Step 3: Rebar Tying
Prior to concrete placing, the surface must be prepared. The pool reinforcement is usually done using No. 16 indented bars in two strands at a distance of 25 cm from each other.
Step 4: Concrete Placing on the Walls and the Floor
After the pool is shuttered, it is ready for concrete placing. On average, concrete is poured on the floor and walls between 25 and 30 cm. The cement content of 350 kg/m3 is recommended. It is also highly recommended to use NSG-N50 for concrete placing because it makes the concrete waterproof and much stronger (Water stop tape should also be applied in the spots that concrete is cut).
Step 5: Insulating
When concrete placing is finished it is the best time for insulating:
- The concrete surface is coated using NSG-B70 in order to prepare the required bed for the main insulation layer. Another advantage of using NSG-B70 in this step is that the porous parts are repaired if there are any.
- In this step, the procedure No. 222 is done (with NSG-Z90).
Step 6: Tiling
It is recommended to do tiling with NSG-B70.
Note: Installation of inlet and outlet pipes should be done before concrete placing.
